A RUSSIAN 1845 PATTERN PERCUSSION MUSKET DATED 1853. With a 108cm tapering round barrel with various marks, '22257' 'RE' and dated 1853, brass barrel bands, with a percussion firing action with back action lock, dated 1853 and named for the 'Izhevsk' factory. The brass butt plate with Russian eagle mark, twin sling mounting points, 148cm overall.
A nice example with much original finish to butt, some light marking from wear and age, occasional wormholes to timber.
