monogrammed "PW" and dated (16)53, oil on panel, 43cm x 33cm; and the companion painting of a stag hunt, monogrammed and dated (16)64 (2)

Provenance: The reverse with the seals of James Butler, 1st Duke of Ormonde, KG (1610-1688), the Lord Lieutenant of Ireland, and James Medlycott (1658-1731) of Ven House, Milborne Port, and thence by descent. A label on the reverse is inscribed "Wouwerman from Ven, April 1868 WC Medlycott"and "Private Property"dating from the early 20th century.
