Star Lot : An incredible Orthoceras fossil. An Orthoceras fossil is the remains of an ancient cephalopod that had a long, straight shell. The name means “straight horn”. They lived about 400 million years ago during the Paleozoic Era. It belonged to the Phylum Mollusca, which includes snails, clams, octopus, and squid. Its shell was divided into chambers, with the largest one at the end. This is a super example.
