Michael Benn, following a successful career, joined the York College of Art studying art and, in particular, sculpture. His sculptures were sandcast in solid bronze or aluminium by a traditional Lancashire foundry; bronze chosen for its durability and aluminium for its brightness and versatility. He exhibited locally throughout Yorkshire.
