QSA with bars Trans/SA02 (4457 Pte T Nichols Norfolk Regt) and 1915 Star Trio (3562 Pte T Nichols Norf R) Sgt on Pair. With original ephemera including Parchment Certificate, born St Miles Cosham, Norfolk. Roll Book and newspaper cutting recording his amazing wartime story that Nichols was severely Wounded at the Battle of Gaza and left for dead. A Turkish soldier rifled his belongings and took the Roll Book, after 5 months in hospital he was back over the top at Gaza 2nd November where members of his company bayonetted some Turks and amazingly found the Roll Book with Turkish writing and a stamp in it, and returned it back to Nichols.
