λ An 18th century ivory fan with plain ivory sticks and guards. The leaf is hand painted with a piper playing to his sweetheart along with a dancing/performing dog. The leaf mounted à l'anglaise fashion, the verso plain with painted wavy lines to the sticks. Mother of pearl thumb piece at the base. Circa 1740. Length 28cm.
