Military Medal GV (29655 Pte J W Hartley 2/E.Lanc.R) BWM & Victory Medal (4679 Pte J W Hartley E.Lanc R). With research, Slightly Wounded 8th Sept 1917. He was presented his MM at Burnley United Methodist Chruch while on home leave after spending several months as a Prisoner of War in Germany.
