5th Bn Middlesex Regiment 1856 Pattern Pioneers Short Sword.

A good example of the pattern, by Robert Mole & Sons of Birmingham. The single edged flat sided blade with sharpened back edge point and rear sawback edge. The forte dated 11/93 and cutler’s etched panel. Brass stirrup shape guard with down swept quillon, the brass ribbed slab grips secured by four steel rivets. Housed in its original brass mounted leather scabbard, this with issue details to the throat V MX 3.10. Good clean condition
