The Mini Mark IV was introduced in 1976. It has a front rubber mounted subframe with single tower bolts and the rear frame had some larger bushings introduced. Twin stalk indicators were introduced with larger foot pedals. From 1977 onwards, the rear indicator lamps had the reverse lights incorporated in them. In 1980, the engine was uprated to the improved A-Plus unit from the Metro. This was then followed by a number of later incremental developments. 1981 was the Mini's last year in the top ten of Britain's top selling cars, as it came ninth and the Metro was fifth.

Mark V, from 1984, all cars had 8.4-inch brake discs and plastic wheel arches, Mini Special arches, but retained the same Mark IV body shell shape. The Mini Cooper was relaunched in 1989, 20 years after the demise of the original model. Once again, it featured the long-running 1275cc engine which had featured on the original Mini Cooper.

The vendor tells us that this lovely Black Mk5 1275cc Mini is in splendid condition and it has, Electric Front Windows, Electric Sunroof, a Walnut 3 Dial Dash, Stereo Radio, Spot Lights. Twin Carbs, Gas Flowed Cylinder Head, Sports Exhaust, High Core Radiator, Alloy Rocker Cover, upgraded brake master cylinder, Billet Oil Filter Housing, Goodridge hoses, Adjustable Shock Absorbers, Minilite style wheels, including the spare, Yokohama tyres, and a Leather Sports Steering Wheel.

The car drives superbly, and all the suspension bushes have been replaced, the gear change is taut, it starts first time, and cruises well at motorway speeds. It has had only 6 former keepers. The MOTs history and condition, strongly suggest that the recorded mileage of 35,500 is correct, though it cannot be guaranteed.
