AN ANTIQUE FLINTLOCK BLUNDERBUSS, fitted with a 30'' steel flared muzzle barrel, the lock bears the makers name Wogdon (Robert Wogdon was a renowned London gunmaker who was born in 1734 and died in 1813. He is best known for his production of duelling pistols), the butt plate, lock side plate and trigger guard are brass bearing sections of engraving, the trigger guard finial is in the shape of an acorn which dates its production to the last quarter of the 18th century when the acorn design was replaced by the pineapple which first appeared on small arms in 1772, the barrel bears raised London proof marks, its lock is in correct working order and the walnut stock is in excellent condition with only evidence of a minor crack just forward of the lock
