Royal Marine Light Infantry Victorian Officer's helmet plate, 1878-1902, QV crown on top, Gibraltar in scroll atop wreath with fouled anchor at bottom, Per Mare Per Terram in strap with blue enamel backing around silvered globe , silver strung bugle below anchor, plate with minor gaps in enamel, otherwise extremely fine. The plate has been fitted to an Army officer's blue cloth helmet, pointed peak with brass, leather and red silk headband, Hawkes & Co stamp to lining, fitted with roses and leather backed chinstrap.
