Manner of Genryusai Seiya, Meiji Period (1868-1912), a large and impressive bronze eagle, modelled with its wings spread, gilt highlighted eyes, and supported on a detachable naturalistic bronze stump base, wing span 106cm wide, overall height 116cm
Small loss to the tip of one claw can be seen. The tail of the eagle detaches due to the original pins not being present thus its current secured with a contemporary screw - see images. Some gilt wear to the eyes. Overall rather dusty and grubby with some minor blemishes and one slightly visible dent to the tip of a feather. The base appears slightly more crude, is hollow, and shows grubbiness throughout. There appear to be old hairlines/fractures to the surface of the base however this does not appear to cause any structural implications. Overall, the condition is good and the appearance is rather impressive.
