RARE BISECTED FRANKING TO LONDON: 8 Apr. 1859 env. (minor wrinkles) to London franked with a strip of three 3d, the last one of which has been bisected diagonally to make up the 7½d rate, even margins all around, third stamp lightly tied by bar cancels and with London Paid cds on front and Halifax ds on rear. Carried on the Niagara originating in Boston and to Liverpool. Very fine and attractive.
