A 19th Century Irish silver gilt Ciborium, the removable bowl with cover and cruciform handle over an ornate bulbous stem support on decorative shaped base, inset with semi-precious jewels in the style of Augustus Pugin, hallmarked J.S. (John Smyth & Sons, Dublin), the base rim inscribed 'Offered to the Sacred Heart of Jesus by Margaret Kenny on the Procession Day of her beloved child Ellen in Religion, Sister Mary Evangelist, 3rd May 1870,' hallmarked, approx. 31cms tall, approx. 50 gms overall. (1)
Provenance: The Ursuline Convent, Waterford.
