Three mid-19th century spot samplers in different forms: the first a selection of wool work motifs, tacked into a length of cream glazed cotton, with the addition of some chenille examples, beadwork and straw work, 54 panels; together with two more traditional long samples worked on continuous canvas, one motif being the front section of a slipper featuring a fox mask embroidered at one end with “Maria Fritsher 1854, the final example much more vibrant and accomplished, by Therese Artf? 1855 (3)
The first example has a few worn panels but they are all in good sound condition.
