AN EDWARD VII ARMY OFFICER'S SHAKO FOR THE WELSH REGIMENT. An Edwardian black cloth Shako with silver bullion bands to the body, the chin-chain with twin fixing points, the point rear in the form of finely worked Prince of Wales' Feathers, with a red wool 'pom pom' in decorative silver mount. The helmet plate for the Welsh Regiment, 7th (Cyclists) Battalion which was formed in 1908. With red silk lining with feint mark, possibly for Samuel Brothers Limited. 19cm high, 24cm front to back *Condition: Light moth damage to the top , marks to surfaces and lining loose. A nice example.
