1787 Pre-stamp. Entire sent from Worksworth, Derbyshire to London with at the 5d rate as indicated at top right. The reverse shows a fine strike of the rare ‘JANy’ abbreviated cds (Jay. L4a) for the first day of use JA.27.1787 this rare cancellation was only in use from JA.27-31.1787. Light filing crease and flat torn from opening but a very rare cover.
