Large and impressive French brass two train figural mantel clock, the movement back plate stamped A R & Co and striking on a gong, the 5.75" white chapter ring enclosing a recessed visible escapement, within a drumhead casing surmounted by a robed woman leaning over a standing child reading, upon a breakfront stepped base with rounded ends, 27" high, 32" wide (pendulum and key)
a very HEAVY clock! - the movement requires service/attention with one spring fully wound but not tested, the dial outer chapter ring has some hairlines present, the back is missing the cover door, the arm of the lady is loose but present, the case back has a visible crack, some other small minor chips to the slate, overall general light marks and wear to metal ware - please see all images for guidance
