WW2 Rare Third Reich 2nd pattern Luftwaffe Dagger with artificial Damascus blade 248mm in length with a small rose etched pattern, maker marked "Pet.Dan.Krebs Solingen". The Lobster trade mark is correctly applied over the top of the Damascus pattern blade. Generic pattern crossguard. Wire bound white celluloid grip over wooden former. Fitted with correct 23cm knot. Overall length 387mm. Complete with the extra cost nickle plated generic pattern scabbard which is correct for an extra cost dagger with Damascus blade. Few Luftwaffe officers took up the option to buy one of these expensive daggers at the time. (A very similar dagger to the one offered here sold in Tom Wittmans May 2013 sale for £6,400.)

More Information

Slight knock to tip of the blade. Otherwise very good condition overall.
