After Pietro Testa (1612-1650) The Poisoning of Sinorix, oil on canvas, 50 x 66 cm, frame 64 x 79 cm Notes: The painting has compositional comparisons with the etching by Pietro Testa (1612-1650) showing The Poisoning of Sinorix, which was created circa 1635-45 and also with a painting by Thomas Blanchet (1614/17-1689) showing Synorix being removed from the Temple of Artemis, which was sold at Drouot, Paris in 2004. To the verso is a label with a previous attribution to Giovanni Paolo Panini (1691-1765)
