The painting featuring a castle on the shore, rocks in foreground. Mounted, framed & glazed. Label to verso with later attribition. Along with 1891 Charles West Cope R.A. a Life Record, written by himself & edited by his Son Charles Henry Cope. Original edited proof copy of the work, with hand added annotations by Charles Henry Cope throughout. This work was published in 1892 under the title of Reminiscences of Charles West Cope R.A. by Richard Bentley & Son. Publisher's cloth, binding worn with spine loose front textblock, bumped & worn to the head and tail of the spine, inscription by C. H. Cope to ffep (loose but present) reading Private Copy, Bound proofs, Supplementary matter hereafter critiques etc, Brussels Dec 1891, newspaper clippings pasted in throughout, a scarce work in any form & an important association copy, 8vo.
