G.B. 6d-RATE FRANKINGS UNDERPAID TO THE SAME MONTREAL ADDRESS - ALL WITH DIFFERENT MARKS; 1867/8 trio of envs. from Bath (all stamps tied by duplexes) to the same Montreal address but all underpaid; 1867 pair each with single 6d Lilac (pl.6; one with cut wing margin) franking but underpaid for "British Packet" route (8d rate) so each with v. fine boxed "EXCG/OZ/DEFICIENT POSTAGE[2]/BRITISH SHARE OF FINE/[3/5]" but one oddly also with v. fine London deleted h.s. "2" and "[IN]SUFFICIENTLY/STAMPED" marks (latter also with v. large 2-ring "MONTREAL-POST-OFFICE" cds on back); both charged "17[c]" due on delivery. Also 1868 env. with 1d Reds(2) + 4d vermilion but the rate had reduced from 8d to 7d so there is a scarce unframed London (?) "POSTAGE[1]/HALF FINE[3]/TOTAL/4" mark and only a "15[c]" due charge. Spectacular trio.(3 covers) [2 illustrated in FTM; pp.105 & 109.] Cross Reference: POSTAGE DUE MARKS, OVERSEAS DESTINATIONS, TRANSATLANTIC MAIL, CANADA
