Ye are more beautiful than they yet no fond memories round you cling to breathe upon the hearts decay The freshness of our early spring ye in your pride of bowen (?) and hall I have never met our childhoods gaze ye cannot with a spell recall the joyous thoughts of bygone days your varied hues and foliage green the painter may well idolize but wilder flowers have ever been more sacred in the Poets eyes by Mrs Valentine Bartholomew April 1843'
