In the manner of Ralph Turnbull, an early Victorian specimen timber inlaid worktable, the octagonal top with palm wood, green heart, West Indian satinwood, rosewood and other exotic timbers in a radiating pattern. The underside of the hinged lid is inlaid with a fruit design and bearing the legend "Lady's Companion" above a fitted interior. On a "Trafalgar" base with simple scroll feet. (Possibly colonial West Indies) 47.5 cm diameter/wide x 68 cm overall height.

Condition report: Some slight lifting to veneers and the lappet shaped apron below the frieze has some damage. The table stands well The top doesn't seem to have the usual warp seen in these tables.
