A 19th Century Turkmen Saryk saddle cover, with geometric borders and designs and central split, 44cm x 59cm.
NB - The item would have been woven as a special gift for a weaver's husband to use on ceremonial occasions or possibly a wedding dowry item. The use of blue and cochineal indicate Salor or Saryk tribes.
Please note the slit, this is deliberate to accommodate the saddle pommel.
