AN ELIZABETHAN OAK COURT CUPBOARD
basically late 16th century, with a hinged rectangular top above a strapwork frieze with foliate corbels and a pair of doors with arcaded panels flanked by caryatids, the sides with cruciform panels centred by a stylised flowerhead, the base with a leaf-carved frieze supported on fluted "cup and cover"uprights, the platform base carved with lunettes, 119.5cm high x 124.5cm wide
Provenance: The Victorian key label is marked "Great Hall Cabinet". It is shown in a photograph of the Great Hall, circa 1916 and according to family records it was probably purchased for the house by Hubert Hutchings, circa 1873.
