More Information

The Clock is in full working order, and has been well looked after by the vendor, who has had it serviced regularly and had the case oiled every few years. Overall, this is a typical example of a George III oak and mahogany crossbanded longcase clock, that would appear to date to around 1780 in good condition for its age with only a few minor imperfections.
The movement is in good condition with all parts present. The dial is again in good condition with some light tarnishing / marking to the chapter ring, however this is commensurate with an 18th Century clock. The case is fairly original condition with a few areas showing its age. There is some pitting to one side of the case, the hood has a few knocks in places however overall a very nice case that has been well looked after.
