- Only 9,000 miles, engine overhauled, high pipe version of sought-after Super Six
In 1965 great excitement awaited in the motorcycle world as Suzuki unveiled a prestigious new road bike, the T20, lovingly known as the Super Six. The bike was an instant success, hailing the start of the Suzuki being accepted as a major quality motorcycle manufacturer, rather than just a maker of mopeds and ride to work machines.
The T20 sported a 29 bhp 247cc 2 stroke engine and boasted an eyebrow-raising top speed of 100 mph through a six speed gearbox, which gave the bike the nickname Super Six. In 1966 and 1967 the Suzuki Super Six was the first Japanese machine to ever win the prestigious Motorcycle News 'Machine of the Year' award. Developed for the American market, the TC 250 X6, a T20 with upswept exhausts, satisfied the American desire for street scrambler style machines.
This nicely original TC250, with c.9,000 miles recorded, was imported from the USA and into current ownership. The engine has been overhauled by the vendor and has been recently running. A V5c and UK registration is currently being processed by DVLA, it is hoped this will be in place by the time of the auction in February.
