Berwickshire Artillery Vols: a large silver shooting award, not HM, being a 4 armed cross, each arm having foliate engraving, in the centre a sield with scroll "In Defence" over crossed rifles, ring suspender with riband brooch also engraved as arms. Reverse engraved inscription "2nd Berwickshire Artillery Volunteers. Presented to Captn James Herriot 1862", diameter 55mm. VF. London Gazette entry for February 1st 1861 shows "Commissions signed by the Lord Lieutenant of the County of Berwick. 2nd Berwickshire Artillery Volunteer Corps James Herriot to be Captain." £80-120
