A pair of Minton porcelain flower-encrusted twin handled pots and covers, circa 1825, each painted with a landscape scene, titled to the bases, "Defile near the Bridge of Tia" and "Dryburgh Abbey", the reverse painted in bright enamels depicting bouquets of summer flowers, naturalistically moulded twig handles, the pull off covers with applied flower head finials, gilt highlights, 10in. (25.4cm.) handle to handle, 6 ¾in. (17.2cm.) high. (2) * Defile near the Bridge of Tia - cover with1 inch crack to centre, finial with tips off petals, applied flowers and stalks with losses and glue residue, right hand twig handle with restoration to top joining section, the other handle with possible repair, slight rubbing to green glaze, multiple flower heads with tips of petals broken. Dryburgh Abbey - cover with repair to flower stems, a couple of petals with broken edges on finial flower, each handle with restoration to upper leaves, hairline around rim to one side, multiple flower petal tips missing and or with restoration, both very pleasing to the eye.
