Utagawa Hiroshige (Japanese 1797-1858), 'Settsu Province: Idemi Beach at Sumiyoshi', woodblock, published 1853, 34cm x 23cm
The print is trimmed and there is the remnants of a possible vertical centre fold. There is very minor foxing in a few small areas. The colours are generally good. It is signed 'Brush of Hiroshige' along with certified Aratame-census seal. There is a pin hole left edge lower margin. The print is floating above a black board giving an impression of black margin.
The frame dates from the early 20th Century. It has knocks and scrapes consistent with age and mis-use.
