1702 (June 22) Entire letter from Reigate "For Mr Roger Gordon at the Right Honourle the Countess of Plymouths house in Chelsea near London" charged 2d, backstamped "JU/22" Bishop Mark and scarce London Penny Post "F/AFT" heart shaped time handstamp (Jay 370, final year of use). Minor soiling, an uncommon use of this time handstamp on a letter transferred from the General Post to the Penny Post for delivery. Photo on Page 52.
