A Continental bronze saluting cannon, probably early 18th century; the tapering multi-stage barrel with astragal cast muzzle above a band of fruit and a cherub head in low relief; with a further foliate cast band above twin stylised dolphin lifting handles; above a vacant cartouche with foliate cast surround; with berried and foliate cast cascabel; on an iron-clad and adorned wooden carriage, with iron-shod spoked wheels; the barrel 32cm long, the length overall 63cm, 40cm wide; (lacking elements of the carriage)
