C. Holmes 1/Life Gds, BWM and Victory Medal to 2061 C. of H. C.L. Holmes 1-L. Gds and KGV Army LSGC to
2061 Cpl of H. C. Holmes 1/L. Gds very fine to extremely fine. Charles Leslie Holmes was killed in action with 1st Life Guards on 30th October 1914 and is commemorated on the Menin Gate.
With 2 original photos of his name on the Menin Gate, a 1927 Menin Gate medallion. With 23 copied pages of service record, QSA roll and CWGC, he was born in Limerick, enlisted in Royal Engineers 2/12/93 aged 20, transferred to Life Guards 4/11/98, served South Africa 29/11/99 to 29/11/00, landed France 5/10/14.
