An F.A. international debut medal awarded to Tom Grosvenor of Birmingham City for the match England v Ireland played at Deepdale, Preston 4th October 1933, 14ct. gold, inscribed THE FOOTBALL ASSOCIATION, F.A. INTERNATIONAL, the edge inscribed E v.I., 1933-34, T. Grosvenor, with a 9ct Football League Medal relating to the same match and his three England caps and his number 8 England football shirt, also further ephemera to include photograph, menus and press cuttings.
NB - Tom was born in Netherton and played for Stourbridge then Birmingham City. He was sold on to Sheffield Wednesday in 1936 for £2,500 and finished his professional career playing for Bolton Wanderers. He made three appearances for England in 1933, scoring twice. During this period players making their debut for England were given an option by the Football Association to receive a gold commemorative medal instead of their normal match fee.
The caps and shirt are in framed and glazed there is a large stain to the shirt, both medals are in good condition, but not in original cases various ephemera to include photo of the Birmingham City team, action photos of Tom playing, etc.
The number 8 is printed not stitched

There is a small spot or hole just above the top left of the badge and two other smaller spot holes 8" to the right.
The case is not original and is an associated from an old jewelry box.
