A Vic 1827 pattern rifle officers sword, very slightly curved blade 32½”, by Joseph Starkey, Conduit St, London, etched with crowned VR cypher on one side and strung bugle and blank shield on the other, all in scrolled foliate panels, regulation steel hilt with sideloop, knucklebow and 2 sidebars, incorporating crowned strung bugle, plain pommel, thumbpiece to backstrap, wirebound fishskin grip, in its steel scabbard with 2 rings. GC, the blade retaining some original polish. Plate 5 £125-175
