An English slipware baking dish, circa 1780, Staffordshire or perhaps Isleworth, the shallow oblong form decorated with a cream ground combed with brown stripes of slip, with piecrust indentations to the rim, unmarked, 28.5cm long Provenance: With paper slips stating this dish was previously on loan to the Leicester Museum in 1967. Condition:Section of loss of glaze revealing the red clay underneath to the front of the dish. Wear and some patches of discolouration (browning) around the rim, most notably to one long edge. Crazing to the glaze throughout.
