Autograph letter signed 'Ney' to Division General Colaud, 1 1?4 pp., 4to., repair at right hand margin and mounted, in French, Montabauer, 17 prairial an 4 [5 June 1796]. Written the day after the battle of Altenkirchen when Ney had distinguished himself, he informs Colaud that he has just pursued eight hundred of the enemy who had been sent to destroy the munitions and stores left behind at Ehrenbreitstein and reporting that the enemy is extremely disheartened *Condition: Torn at left margin and restored with very limited loss to text, mounted on card, slight loss lower right.
