£1,000 - £1,500
§ A GEORGE III SILVER TEAPOT
by William Burwash, London 1818, of squat circular form, the flat hinged cover with a carved ivory knop, framed by a gadrooned rim interspersed by scrolls and scallop shells, the body partially reeded, the fruitwood handle pinned into bifurcated snake-form sockets, engraved with crests and armorial. 27.5cm long, 32.5 troy ounces gross
With non-transferable standard ivory exemption declaration number UMW4BDQN
The marks are clear and well-struck. The hinged lid opens and closes well. The handle is beautifully carved and firm in the sockets. The teapot stands flat and doesn't wobble. This is a large and good example, in generally good condition.
