Railway. L.N.W.R. Locomotives-Named and Unnamed. A superb collection of commercial black and white prints. The prints have been collected over many years and are housed in a vintage steel filing cabinet, with 9 steel drawers. We will be selling off the contents of each drawer over the next couple of auctions and then the empty filing cabinet will be sold. The first drawer (not included) contains approx. 1700, black and white, postcard size prints from various sources, including: R.K. Blencowe, Locofotos, C.R.L. Coles, Frank Hornby, K.C.H. Fairey, L. Hanson, Real Photograph Co. etc. The prints are sorted into L.N.W.R. classes and importantly they are in number order. Each class has a typed card with details of loco number, build date and withdrawal date, there may be more than 1 photo of each loco number and there are some gaps in the collection waiting to be filled!. Sections include: George V class, Prince of Wales Class, Precursors, Crewe Works and locos under BR ownership. Rare opportunity! Most/all of the prints are captioned. Copyright is not on offer.
