A FIRST WORLD WAR 1914-15 STAR AND A COLLECTION OF SECOND WORLD WAR MEDALS AND RIBBONS. A Great War 1914-15 Star named to 6541 Pte W. Orr K.O.Sco Bord. Attesting for service on the 27th February 1915, William Orr was 30 years old working as a Dock Labourer from North Leith, Midlothian. Arriving in France on the 20th July 1915 he rose to the rank of Lance Corporal. He was killed in action on the 23rd July 1916 whilst serving with the 2nd Battalion of the King's Own Scottish Borderers. He is commemorated on the Thiepval Memorial to the missing of the Somme. With a collection of Second World War Medals: 2 Defence Medals, War Medal, 1939-45, France and Germany, Pacific, Burma, Italy and Africa Stars, the last with North Africa 1942-43 clasp.
