c.1890’s, a German folding fan, en camaieu, believed to show the Ridge of Valkyries, with several interesting features: stag hunt in the background, a well with a shining crown above (?), a ghostly figure to the right, a stone pillar with portrait at the base, and, to the left, a fine cat, a motto in German gracing the upper guard, the verso is plain, guard approx. 34.5cm, contained in a possibly unconnected fan box for the Parisian maker “Maison S Lévy, 41, Avenue de L'Opéra”(2)

The fan leaf has some splits to the folds, the box lid is quite damaged, with stains.
