A GEORGE III EBONISED BRACKET CLOCK. the 7.5" cream painted dial signed Bentley and Beck, Royal Exchange London and dated *1765 on a brass eight day twin fusee movement, striking the hours to a bell, with adjustable pendulum and key, the arched case with brass pineapple finials and carry handle, fish scale side grilles and later presentation plaque, height exc. handle 43cm

*Recorded dates in Loomes for Bentley & Beck appear to suggest they were active from 1805 - 1824, so the 'date' on the dial maybe spurious.

More Information

Movement appears seized and over wound but mechanism appear to function, the dial with wear, losses and touch-ins, the case with knocks, losses and splits. Lacking case key.
