Edward VI (1547-1553) Crown, 1551, third period, fine silver issue, Tower Mint, (London), mintmark y both sides. Armoured King with upright sword on horseback right, date 1551 below, linear and beaded circles surrounding, legend surrounds EDWΛRD VI DG ΛGL FRANC Z HIBER REX. Rev, long cross fourchée over quartered shield of arms, reads POSVI DEVM Λ DIVTOR E MEV, 30.31gm (S. 2478; N. 1933). Very Fine, attractively toned, some of the usual metal stress marks to rev., scarce. Old pre WWII Baldwin’s ticket in the hand of AHB priced at 6/6.
