A large Thai celadon glazed bowl, Sawankhalok kilns, 14th / 15th century, heavily-potted with flared and upturned rim, the centre incised with a "sun" pattern surrounded by parallel bands, surrounded by five incised roundels each containing lotus blossoms, the exterior carved with vertical grooves and horizontal bands below the rim, translucent and finely-crackled blueish-green celadon glaze, unglazed base, 29.5cm
weight 1.85 kg. It is in very good condition with no restoration or repair, although to the rim is a hairline that follows the crackle of the glaze. Clearly influenced by the Chinese Longquan celadons of the same period.
