WW1 3rd Bn Royal Irish Regiment Officer's Sword.

A good example of a George V period Infantry pattern sword. The blade with etched floral decoration and text "D.M. CHRISTIE 3RD BN THE ROYAL IRISH REGIMENT". The hilt with shagreen grip, with twist wire binding. Complete with nickel plated scabbard. Overall good clean bright condition.

Attributed to Second Lieutenant Douglas Morrison Christie, who served in the ranks of the Machine Gun Corps, before being commissioned into the 3rd Bn Royal Irish Regiment. His rank confirmed in the London Gazette 11th September 1918. His MIC indicates he served in France as an Officer.
