A Continental carved, painted and parcel giltwood tabernacle with the Black Madonna and Infant Christ; the tabernacle 19th century, the group earlier; the Madonna portrayed as standing, crowned and robed, with Christ held in her right arm; with later gilt metal crown, lace drape and stand, 50cm high; the tabernacle with arched pediment canopy with anthemion cresting, above tassels hung from lambrequins; the interior with a later fabric hanging over an incised foliate backboard, flanked by associated torchere bearing angels rising from scrollwork; on a stepped and serpentine fronted base; 96cm high overall, 60cm wide
