A GOOD EARLY 19TH CENTURY PEWTER SCALE PLATE, CIRCA 1830-40. Of typical circular flat form, with reinforced rim, crowned ‘X’ marks, touchmark and hallmarks to front centre of Susannah Cocks, London, (fl.1820-1847), (PS1779), and to the reverse the retail label of Richard William Webb, a scale maker, London, (fl.1829-1869), (PS15448), diameter 30.5cm

Having been made by Cocks the plate was subsequently used in a counter scale made by Webb, who at the time worked from 10 High Street, Marylebone, London
