probably Liverpool circa 1798, painted with Fill to brave Duncan below an anchor, the rim with foliate detail, the exterior with chinoiserie style painted decoration, 27cm diameter

Adam Duncan,1st Viscount Duncan KB (1731 – 1804)

Admiral Duncan commanded The British North Sea Fleet which defeated The Batavian Navy commanded by Vice – Admiral Jan de Winter, at the battle of Camperdown on 11th of October 1797

This bowl would have been produced to celebrate the victory of this naval conflict.
