American Civil War period Model 1840 Mounted Light Artillery Troopers sword and scabbard. Having an 81cms (32ins) curved single fullered blade, with brass knuckle guard and wire bound leather grip. This sword probably of French or German manufacture has no identification marks as was the norm, because they were being supplied to both the Union and Confederate Armies.
